James O'Connell
This book is an account of the 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment during the last three days of the Falklands war, it has been put together with the goodwill of the members of 3 Para and their attachments. When I asked Lieutenant-General Sir Hew Pike KCB, DSO, MBE if he would do a read through, to make sure he had no objections to the content and if he would be kind enough to write the foreword, this was his reply, it sums up what the book is all about.
Hi, I hope you enjoy my book Three days in June, it was written over three years, I travelled around the UK and went back to the Falklands several times with veterans of the battle to do walk through talk through, to get a more accurate account of movement, also of great help were the Argentine veterans Lt Dachary (Argentine Heavy Machine Gun Commander) Cpl Colemil (Commander of HMG’s number 4/5/6.) also Cpl Pedemonte of 2 Platoon 7th Infantry Regiment, these men helped with the location of gun positions and I would like to thank them all, If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me, at phelmets@aol.co.uk
